Black History Month

Black History Month celebrations were designed to reach a varied audience. Certain program activities were targeted to specific individuals, that is, youth, while others took a more generalized approach and aimed to appeal to a wide-ranging audience. The program showcased the diversity of the African American experience, thus some programs focused on intellectual or academic issues while others spotlighted the importance of creativity through the arts and music. Overall, this year’s Black History Month highlighted the reality that although African Americans have a unique place in history, there is commonality between and among all persons residing in Ghana and that through recognition, acceptance and discourse, the lives of all are enhanced.
